#LightTheWorld Giving Machines are special red vending machines put up during the Christmas season where donors can purchase goods for those in need around the world, such as clothing for children or livestock such as a goat for a family.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sponsors the operating costs of the Giving Machines, so 100% of donations go to local or worldwide charities to provide for the less fortunate.
Light The World Giving Machines are big red vending machines where you can donate special items to those in need through select local and international charities.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sponsors the machines and covers the costs so that 100% of your donation goes to the charity you choose. There are more than one hundred locations worldwide. This year, there are Light The World Giving Machines in Dallas – Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Waco, McAllen, El Paso, and Houston, Texas.

Insert a credit or debit card and select one or more items from the vending machine. A Styrofoam card with a photo of the item you have purchased will drop to the bottom of the machine, signifying the purchase you have made.
The Giving Machines accept all major U.S. credit cards and debit cards – just like a regular vending machine. The Dallas – Fort Worth machines are tap or chip and are being adjusted to accept card swipes for donations. Please note that the Giving Machine does not accept cash.
At a Light the World Giving Machine, all of your donation – 100% – reaches the people served. Overhead costs for the machines, credit card fees, and the administrative fees for the designated charity are covered by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Since 2017, $32 million has been donated through #LightTheWorld Giving Machines.
